Lecture Recital

I will be having a lecture recital on Claude Debussy’s Proses Lyriques song cycle. A lecture recital is a combination of both a presentation and music that coincides with the presentation. The lecture recital is focused on a certain topic and then the music  performed and discussed demonstrates that topic. I will present a lecture first, and then perform the work myself with a pianist accompanying me. The music is a lot more to it than meets the eye so I think it will help people appreciate this cycle will demonstrate the complexity and thought that goes into classical music. My project doesn’t have a focused audience. I will complete this by learning the music, then writing the lecture, and then organizing the recital itself. I hope my project will impact my peers to learn something new about this work and admonish them to listen to more classical music.
